How Beyond The Season Works

From application to training—here's the process.

The Athlete Journey

1

Apply Online

Fill out our application—takes about 30 minutes. Tell us about yourself, your sport, your goals, and what's been standing in your way. We'll need your academic info, coach contacts for recommendations, and a personal statement.

2

Recommendations

We'll reach out to your references—a parent/guardian, a coach, and one other person who knows your character. We're looking for evidence of drive, dedication, and accountability.

3

Selection Committee Review

Our committee reviews every application. We're not just looking at athletic ability—we're looking at commitment, character, and dedication.

4

Interview

If you make it past initial review, you'll have a short interview with a committee member. This is athlete-focused—we want to understand your goals, your obstacles, and your drive.

5

Grant Decision

If selected, we'll work with you to identify the right coaches and training facilities. We'll build a custom development plan based on your sport and goals.

6

Training Begins

We pay your coaches and facilities directly. You show up and work. That's the deal.

7

Ongoing Mentorship

Throughout your grant period, you'll have regular check-ins with a mentor. We track progress, troubleshoot problems, and make sure you're staying on course.
